Evil comes in all forms. Ever since we were kids, we’ve had a very descriptive image of how an evil person should look. There’s the gown, the horns, the tail and the trident. But sometimes evil can be the person behind you in line. He can be the one standing in front of you, facing you. Whether; he’s your anchor, lifeline or your very own reflection. As three very wise monkeys once said: “see no evil, hear no evil, and speak no evil.” But what if we’re just too late. What if the fact that evil is all around us, facing us, have gotten inside us? After all, we created all things bad.
Not so long ago, I came across a quote which I think is very appropriate in this case. It read: “Hell is empty and all the devils are here”. This made me wonder how true this can be. How often do we question our motives, and morals for that matter? How often do we feel ourselves consumed by darkness, that’s if we feel anything at all? This got me to think, if one does evil, thinks evil and feeds on evil, does this make him a symbol of darkness, or darkness himself?
